Rules for the Gift Game

All you need to do is bring some funny gift and wrap it up. It doesn't have to cost a lot. It can cost nothing. You can wrap up something you have or you can give something nice.

Examples from the past include:

• a can of Spam
• A two by four with nails through it
• A really funny wind up monkey that danced the macarena

Use your imagination! Try to make the packaging and wrap look interesting so that people will want it because the way the game goes is:

• Everybody in the game puts their name on a piece of paper and then into a hat.
• We put all the gifts into a pile on one table.
• We pick a name from hat. That person picks some gift from the pile.
• We pick a second name from the hat. That person can take a gift from the pile or take the gift from the first person.
• If the gift is taken from the first person, he/she gets to take another one from the pile.
• We pick a third name from the pile. That person can take from the pile or take a gift from either of the first two people.
• If someone has a gift taken from them during a "round" they can take another gift from the pile, in which case the round ends, or they can take a gift from someone who already has one.
• But a person can't have a gift taken from them more than once in a round. Otherwise a round could potentially never end!
